In order to plan the Qiongzhou Strait Integrated High Quality Development Demonstration Zone (Xuwen Area) at a high level, establish a high standard Guangdong docking service for the southern gateway city of Hainan Free Trade Port, and make every effort to create a leading area for the coordinated development of Zhanjiang and Hainan, on March 28, 2024, the Xuwen County "Traveling in the Direction of Hainan" major project concentrated construction and signing activity was held in Xuwen County.

Zheng Haoran, member of the Standing Committee of the Zhanjiang Municipal Party Committee and Minister of Propaganda, Luo Hongxia, Secretary of the Xuwen County Party Committee, Huang Laixing, Deputy Secretary of the Xuwen County Party Committee and County Mayor, as well as leaders of relevant municipal units and representatives of enterprises that started construction and signed contracts, attended this event.

It is reported that 8 projects were started and 16 projects were signed on the same day, with a total investment of 40.293 billion yuan. The projects involve multiple sectors such as port industry, water resource protection, low altitude economy, new energy, equipment operation and maintenance, modern agriculture, marine ranching, smart cities, medicine and health, and coastal tourism.
